Matthew S Horner Reflects Over Life in New Album ‘Outta’ Time’

Often, music becomes an irresistible tool for expression. For Matthew S Horner, it became the chance to explore his coming-of-age and adult life, especially as a father and husband. ‘Outta’ Time’ is the result of such process, a stunning album packed with relatable and friendly lyricism, highly personal and nostalgic. Emerging from Springfield, Illinois, Horner can be described as a talented punk-rocker: drawing inspiration from the likes of Blink 182 and The Cure, he crafts tracks that feel punchy and energetic, while blessed by pop-lenient lyricism.

Over eight wonderful pieces, ‘Outta’ Time’ provides the perfect point of entry for Matthew’s artistic universe. From fast-paced punk gems to darker, new-wave jewels, there’s something for everyone in the record. You might even encounter light electronic elements, like the closing effort ‘A Summer High’ proudly showcases. Even more acoustic, 90s-style anthems such as ‘Little Buddy’ stand out, providing a rather compelling case for diving into ‘Outta’ Time’.

Describing the lyricism behind the album, Matthew S Horner explains: “I am getting older now in my mid 30’s, its called Outta’ Time. It’s a story that each song in its own way is either a call back with synth sounds or something that got me to where I am now.”
