Ben Murphy Unveils Introspective Jewel ‘The Edge’

There’s a very intriguing wholesome honesty in Ben Murphy’s music outlook. He is not afraid to address personal issues and past challenges. Packing his songs with irresistible poignancy, the British newcomer is a talent worth looking out for. Debuting last year with ‘All I Do’, an acoustic gem that has surpassed 70k streams on Spotify alone, Murphy now returns with ‘The Edge’, a full-band effort showcasing the project’s immense potential. Over a nostalgic and melancholic pop-rock instrumental, Murphy engages in deep introspection, recalling a rather hard period in his young life.

Written on a public piano in London Euston Station on a late night (missing his train home), the track serves as a cry for help, echoing the vicious cycles of anxiety and substance abuse that plagued Ben’s early efforts in the industry. As he explains: “Forcing myself to go out to gigs to meet and ask strangers if they’d work with me, it took so much out of me id have to drink before to get the courage to even speak. This eventually lead to me missing the train. then the cycle repeated itself, daily.”

The result is a majestic record: ‘The Edge’ is truly an emotional anthem, bound to connect with a large audience. Stay tuned.
