Is there any better feeling than discovering an artist you instantly connect with who’s at the very beginning of their musical career? With that in mind, please give a big welcome to Foreign Saints, the brand-new bedroom-pop project of Brooklyn-based musician Thomas Roberts. At the end of last month, Thomas, working alongside Harper James (Eighty Ninety, Groupthink), unleashed his ridiculously dreamy and sonically viscous debut single ‘Here With Me’. A delectable, succinct, and mesmerizing auditory treat, it’s a deeply ethereal tune that sucks you in straight away and refuses to let go!
Turning to the likes of The Japanese House, Day Wave, and The War On Drugs for inspiration, it’s pretty hard to believe that ‘Here With Me’ is actually Foreign Saints’ debut. It’s so well crafted and produced! And the best news is that it will eventually form part of an upcoming debut EP!
As for the name of the project, Foreign Saints is a nod to Thomas’ time spent hiking the Camino de Santiago. By completing a journey named after an arbitrary foreign saint, the artist discovered the simple beauty in the pursuit of something in and of itself. Approaching his music in a similar fashion, we cannot wait to hear more from him!
