Danny Arcane Shares New Music Video for ‘You Don’t Know Me’

It was almost exactly one year ago when we were bopping our heads to Danny Arcane’s most beloved record ‘You Don’t Know Me’. Since then, the song has constantly grown in popularity, amassing an impressive streaming count across the board. Not a surprise: the track’s introspection and relatable, nostalgic character make it a fitting outlet for every poignant soul out there, functioning as a sort of magnet to Arcane’s artistry.

Now, the Los Angeles-based newcomer expands the narrative around the record, releasing a newly-shot music video that gives ‘You Don’t Know Me’ a compelling visual side. Quite glorious, really: Arcane dives into his childhood and collects a series of photos of him as a kid. He then tries to recreate them. The contrast between childhood innocence – blessed happiness – and today’s gloom is palpable, making the video a rather fitting metaphor for the inevitable passing of times.

Describing the creative process behind the visuals, Danny explains: “A few of the props I use in the video are older than me and my grandfather lives in the same house from a few of the original photos. To be able to recreate some of the scenarios in their exact location was something I really cherished and the look on my grandfather’s face when I played him back the footage was priceless.”
