Emerging from Russia, GOOW delivers ethereal energy and majestic vibes, writing instrumental music with a strong dreamy contour. ‘Luminescent’ is the project’s latest effort, a stunning sonic journey through contrasting landscapes – as defined by Efimuk himself, the human behind the project. Of course, the EP is mostly metaphorical, showcasing the different sides of the project and its textures.
‘Submerged’ is rather dark and pensive, almost introspective, favouring long soundscapes, immense reverb and a certain ‘underwater’ quality. ‘Sunrise and Monster’ takes another path, exploring bright, punchy electronica with an upbeat charge. That’s the contrast so proudly showcased in the EP: perhaps a metaphor for the contrast in human behaviours on a more general level.
‘Luminescent’ was produced solely by Egor at his home studio in Odintsovo, Russia, the perfect setting for such a relatable and evocative record. The music aims to capture the perception of his surroundings, both urban and natural, showcasing the instability and beauty of our world.
