Please allow me to introduce you to one of my favourite new artists and tunes of the year! Emily Nicole Green is a New York-based singer/songwriter, and on her debut single ‘It’s Gonna Be Okay’, she offers up something of a lullaby for tough times. “Adults need lullabies too,” she says. And I couldn’t agree with her more! As she effortlessly blends elements of Americana, folk, jazz, and pop, it’s Green’s heartbreaking and poignant vocal performance that steals the show for me. Soul-stirring and filled with emotion, it’s no wonder the track has instantly resonated with listeners. With over 7,000 plays on Spotify in just a few days, it’s a song that serves as a beacon of light for those in need.
When asked about what guides her songwriting, Emily says that “At the altar of the ache, you’ll find the light below the wound”. Her thoughts and beliefs are powerful and genuine, and she’s a true artist in every sense.
‘It’s Gonna Be Okay’ will feature on Green’s upcoming debut EP ‘Outrunning The Animal’ which is scheduled for release sometime in October. I cannot wait to hear more from this ridiculously talented musician, and all I can do in the meantime is thank her for gifting the world with such an incredibly beautiful tune.
