Moose Wrench Share Unapologetic Punk Anthem ‘Not Dead Yet’

Leeds-based outfit Moose Wrench have been making waves in the punk and metal scene with their gritty, punchy sound that’s equal parts punk and metal. Their latest track ‘Not Dead Yet’ seems to follow that exact and unique recipe, encouraging listeners to “age disgracefully and loudly while dressing accordingly”. We can definitely relate – don’t let society tell you what to do.

Featuring fast-paced guitar riffs, punchy drums, and gritty vocals, ‘Not Dead Yet’ is a raw and energetic gem that’s bound to appeal to both hardcore rock fans and those who like something a little more chilled. The track shifts between punk and metal references with ease, showcasing Moose Wrench’s diverse range of influences, which include Mr. Bungle, Fantomas, Primus, Ween, and Sleepytime Gorilla Museum.

Lyrically, the record seeks to be a call to action, encouraging listeners to be their unapologetic selves, reminding them that if there’s still some life in them, then they’re not dead yet. The track’s vocal growls add an extra dimension to the sound, widening its sonic spectrum.

Recorded and mixed by Rob Slater at Greenmount Studios in Leeds, and mastered by Motto Sound, ‘Not Dead Yet’ is a perfect example of Moose Wrench’s gritty, punk-infused sound. And while the band may describe themselves as the ultimate “dad-bod alt-core”, we can safely say their energy is still intact and fierce as ever.
