There are two sides to this record. The first is its original author, German songstress Jenny Thiele: we have already written about her in the past, celebrating ‘Loonie’ as “blending icy and minimal drum machines with shimmering and warm guitar tones”. ‘Love’ follows suit as a pure indietronica anthem, an eclectic jewel that’s as approachable and relatable as it is bright and emotional.
Layering cathartic, folk-oriented lyricism over electronic soundscapes and nuanced textures, Thiele also champions a sort of ‘functional minimalism’ – the ability to create a hypnotising arrangement with just a few elements plus her evocative, luscious vocals.
Now, exploring the other side of the aforementioned record; a surprising remix penned by 43Hz, completely scrambling the sonic picture we were used to. Leaving behind gentle, elegant tones, the talented producer jumps into ethereal, liquid Drum & Bass, further empowering Jenny Thiele’s artistic reach within the musical landscape.
