As the year comes to a close, it is often a reckoning time for many of us. ‘What a Good Life’ conveniently caters to such a poignant moment, inspiring resilience and empowerment in any keen listeners. Penned by American country outfit 2Digh4, the track is uplifting and groovy, from a sonic standpoint, with a charming banjo crowning an already eclectic instrumental.
Songwriters and brothers Landon and Aubrey Digh do a great job on the lyricism, packing meaningful messages of hope and appreciation into a plethora of mellow, catchy melodies, making the song a welcome listening experience for a wide public. Melody Digh and Mike Kachman complete the talented lineup. Vocals are luscious and earthy, guiding the track towards its glorious resolution.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the record, 2Digh4 explains: “We wanted to help uplift the spirits of everyone who has had hardships, been dragged through the mud again and again, and have dealt with heartache in whatever that looked like.” It looks like the mission has been accomplished, and frankly, we are impressed by the overall quality of this release.
