The Ultra Violets Get Ready for Festival Season with ‘Castle of Vezio’

We previously wrote about The Ultra Violets on the occasion of the release of ‘SEX’, a single we praised as ‘an irresistible slice of fuzzy rock and psych elements’. Since then, the group has been making waves from their Cornwall home base, slowly attracting nationwide attention and blossoming into a slot at Y NOT Festival 2024.

‘Castle of Vezio’ is the group’s latest effort, a fierce and rapturous anthem tinged with indie-rock and Brit-pop influences. In it, the keen listener will welcome ‘The Ultra Violets’s charming lead vocals, malleable and vibrant. Developed over a fast and steady pace, the track sees a plethora of fuzzy guitar riffs and galloping drums, exploding in rapturous glory and anthemic energy in the stadium-ready choruses.

Yep, they are obviously ready for festival seasons; their songwriting is on point. While not everyone is bound to know them yet, their material is friendly and easily approachable, meaning the crowds will be able to instantly relate to the project. Speaking about ‘Castle of Vezio’, The Ultra Violets’ frontman Perran Nicholls explains: “The line ‘I wanna break the spell of ageing tonight’ is the standout line in the whole song for me, it means can we live in a moment without the curse of time passing us by.”
