Last year, we proudly introduced you to Phoenix-based artist and producer Sophia Bavishi, first with her stripped-back version of ‘ya we broke up’ and then with her stunning cover of Lana Del Rey’s ‘Money Power Glory’.
Now, Sophia returns with a brand new single – showcasing an entirely fresh sound too. ‘Electricity’ is Bavishi’s latest offering, and sees her leaning into EDM and dance territory. It’s a complete sonic shake-up from what we’re used to from the musician, but the electrifying and hypnotic tune proves she’s unafraid to push her artistic boundaries, and can seemingly master any genre she chooses to explore.
“This is my first release where I was the head producer of the song and it was all written and created by me,” says Sophia. Produced using Ableton, the vibey and euphoric track channels the thrill and exhilaration of surrendering to the rhythm, casting inhibitions aside, and discovering a powerful chemistry on the dance floor.
With more new tunes undoubtedly on the way, Bavishi is set to continue surprising us with her creative and captivating music. We can’t wait!
