Peter Daniel Unveils Impressive Jazz Record ‘Miles Around’

Exploring modern jazz with traditional flair – yet with straight rhythms – Peter Daniel knows a thing or two about putting together a talented collective. So much so that he assembled a ballistic group ahead of his album release, ‘Quartets’. The ensemble features some of Seattle’s most impressive jazz creatives: Marina Christopher on bass, Marina Albero on Fender Rhodes, and Heather Thomas on drums. They all appear alongside Daniel, leading the charge on the saxophone.

A single taken from the project’s upcoming album, ‘Miles Around’ gives us an idea of what to expect. Built on friendly, approachable stylings, the track is certainly elegant in its execution, featuring a quirky and playful theme interlaced by virtuoso solos, in what’s an impressive display of musicianship and collective alchemy.

Out now via Music Factory Records – a label very dear to Daniel – ‘Miles Around’ is the kind of offering that will potentially appeal to a wider audience; not overly complex and easily understood, the record will certainly provide a proud musical platform for all players involved.
