Seamlessly blending elements of industrial and alternative metal with metalcore, please welcome Austrian-based four-piece powerhouse Elephants in Paradise and their latest offering ‘Reincarnation’. A three-track sonic journey that is powerful, forceful, and simply magical, the EP serves as a continuation of the band’s ‘Extinction Trilogy’, with each tune unfolding like a phoenix rising from the ashes.
We begin with the EP’s title track, and immediately get sucked into the act’s fiery and unrelenting sound. With Cara Cole on vocals, ‘Reincarnation’ sets the stage for a relentless barrage of heavy riffs and formidable melodies.
‘Take This Hand’ then makes its appearance, and it’s another headbanging stunner. Despite the heaviness, however, there’s an irresistible groove and infectiousness beneath the thunder of the band’s work – making them a seriously potent and stand-out force in the metal scene.
‘Basic Instinct’ rounds off the EP in epic fashion. Clocking in at over six minutes, it delivers a dynamic anthem of visceral intensity that is simply impossible to ignore.
All in all, ‘Reincarnation’ is an absolutely blinding gift from a highly talented bunch, and I can’t wait to dive further into the art of Elephants in Paradise!
