Dreams of Delvaux Explore the Deep Majestic on Debut Album ‘Shade Mystique’

Dreams of Delvaux entered my musical sphere last year when I came across their enchanting and multi-faceted debut EP ‘Air Without Gravity’. The Staffordshire-based electronic duo of Jon Aldersea and Rachel Poole completely blew me away, and I am now extremely excited to introduce you to their first full-length album ‘Shade Mystique’.

With an intense focus on the interplay between reality and the unconscious, Dreams of Delvaux concoct sonic landscapes that they refer to as “The Deep Majestic”. Dreamy, spacey, and utterly immersive, their ten-track offering is a synth-filled and saxophone-laced wonder that invites listeners into their celestial world.

‘Emerald Green’ gets the ball rolling and immediately sucks you right in. Rachel’s angelic vocals float over a deeply hypnotic beat, and it’s the perfect start to proceedings.

‘Tell Me You Want Me’ then steps up to the plate in a groovy and soulful manner before the colourful and bewitching ‘Electric Ice’ makes its introduction.

Other personal favourites from the record include ‘Porcelain Star’, ‘Golden Mystery’, and closer ‘Amber Rays’. I have to say…the duo have not only met my expectations, they’ve smashed them right out of the park! What an album!
