could be ghosts Share Furious Double Single ‘fucked up brain pH/SPLIT HEAD’

Slowly taking their steps into the UK’s hardcore and rock landscape, could be ghosts are certainly on the right path. Exhibiting strong charisma and a sharp, coarse sound, the Brighton-based outfit seems to get better and better with every release. Writing about their previous effort ‘hollow heart’, we proudly described it as “hard-hitting poignancy, manifesting into a luscious emo character that perfectly fits our modern times”.

We stand by our words; could be ghosts move at the intersection of massive distortions and melancholic melodies, blending these two seemingly disconnected elements with wittiness and authenticity. ‘fucked up brain pH/SPLIT HEAD’ is the strongest evidence of that. The group’s latest offering, the record widens the sonic picture by first delving into hardcore and emotional territories, then moving towards furious, high-tempo chaos.

Apart from their musical prowess – all great musicians – one of the things that’s instantly obvious is the band’s ability to apply relatable and poignant songwriting over fierce distortions, a distinct emo outlook that’s hard to resist.
