We love ending the week with something a little different…something out there…something that challenges the very concept of what exactly defines our emotional and auditory expectations. Meet Broken Composers, an Indonesian-based duo comprised of interdisciplinary artists Kirill Rave and Vitali Yu. Launching their experiment in 2017, the pair has a large body of work to their name, and today we’ll be honing on their most recent single ‘Solid Revolver’.
Avant-garde, experimental, and seriously leftfield, ‘Solid Revolver’ is more of an instrumental experience than a song. It invites the listener to question the way they interact with art and, in doing so, opens new dimensions of sensory engagement. “The radical aesthetic language we have developed aims to distort perception,” says the duo. “Breaking both ourselves and our viewers out of the everyday paradigm and routine, immersing everyone in an unfamiliar world where the usual system of coordinates does not work”.
