While on the surface she might appear as your run-on-the-mill pop runner-up, at a closer look Beth Brandy will positively impress the listener, offering uplifting, electrifying and luscious material with an extraordinary degree of relatability and charisma. While it is not easy to be a relevant player in the commercial landscape these days, Brandy crushes it, showcasing the kind of artistic confidence that cannot be faked – she’s born with it!
‘Double Standards’ is the London songstress’ latest offering, a stunning, bright and elegant EP delving into pop music with taste and quirkiness. Embracing a strong disco and funk aura, Beth crafts anything from Ariana Grande-Esque soul ballads (‘Magic’) to Dua Lipa-Esque dancy bangers (‘Shot O Clock’, ‘Irresponsible’), always retaining her authentic musical flavouring.
The crazy thing is that she’s good at all of that, comfortable in every setting, and just in general totally commanding the listener’s attention.
