Ari Joshua and Co. Return with Cinematic Epic ‘Praysue’

As one of the most intriguing and prolific artists around, Ari Joshua holds a special place in our hearts here at Mesmerized. Trying to keep up with his musical output is an exercise in futility but every new release is a welcomed surprise, the most recent of which sees him teaming up once again with legends John Medeski, Billy Martin, and Jason Fraticelli.

Titled ‘Praysue,’ the composition sits at the crossroads between classical and jazz. Inspired by Ari’s late grandfather and an enigmatic town called Przysucha in Poland, it’s a deeply cinematic and haunting piece of music.

A nearly nine-minute sonic adventure, ‘Praysue’ is one of the most intricate and complex offerings we’ve come across from Ari and Co. The tune unfurls like a slow-burning flame, revealing layers of beauty with each passing moment. It’s a transcendent experience to be completely honest with you – a masterful musical journey that both challenges and rewards the attentive listener.

The talent on display reminds us that when musicians of this calibre get together, the result is often nothing short of extraordinary, and I can’t help but feel grateful for discovering Ari Joshua. His creativity has pushed me to explore music in ways I hadn’t imagined before and, at the end of the day, isn’t that what it’s all about?
