Focusing on celebrating an old friend who passed away a few years ago, ‘Tears Can Heal’ is particularly important for Smythe. Teaming up with fellow musician Chris Payne, Andy builds a stunning orchestral livery around the song, a perfect match for such evocative lyricism. Speaking about the inspiration behind the record, Smythe explains: “This is a song about the memory of friendship. It tells the story of a dear friend that I lost some years ago”.
