Luscious indie pop from Ottawa, Canada. Dynamic duo Wotts return with their first release of the year, an indie and alt-pop gem with psych and lo-fi elements, ‘wheel’. Shuffling the cards from their previous releases, the record is inherently more pop and conventional, focusing on a wonderful, bright and uplifting melody and metaphorical lyricism.
Lyrically, the track focuses on accepting fate and letting go of obsessing over what you cannot control. It’s all delivered through witty songwriting and light musical material, somewhat contrasting with the more nuanced and complex theme behind the track. Inspired by groups such as Dayglow and Djo, among others, the record is another impressive offering from the Canadian talents.
