‘The Voice In The Silence’ is a record that won’t require you to understand fictitious lyrics, or to refer to a specific wider concept. Instead, we found success by treating it as an evocative sonic bath, a piece that deserves to be experienced in silence, letting the mind roam free through its expansive, luscious yet grainy livery. Penned by English creative Richard Yot, the record masterfully blends shoegaze-inspired guitar tones with ethereal electronic textures.
Such a vibrant amalgam of frequencies sparks deep-rooted melancholia and nostalgia-tinged intensity. Personally, we are big fans of the darkwave-inspired guitars, giving the track a particularly eclectic outlook. Yot speaks about The Cure as one of his main references. It does make sense, yet the stream of crepuscular electronica introduces something new in it, making ‘The Voice In The Silence’ a rather contemporary number.
Also a professional illustrator and 3D artist, it’s fair to say that Richard breathes and lives art. Speaking about the track, he explains: “It takes you on a journey. One that starts softly but then builds into something more intense and emotional, finally bringing you back to earth in a wash of wind and white noise. It’s not the kind of thing you hear every day, it’s a song for people who want to be transported by music.”
