Class Vee Returns with Pognant Gem ‘I Didn’t Love Myself’

Class Vee’s name sounded familiar. Digging through the Mesmerized archives, we then remembered a feature we did last year for ‘Lemon Face’, a record we described as “an uplifting summer bop that is simply too catchy to ignore”. Well, the Floridian songstress is now back with her latest offering, yet the script has shifted, with Class Vee finding artistic refuge in mellower, evocative territories.

She does so masterfully: ‘I Didn’t Love Myself’ manifests itself as a majestic, soothing ballad, an emotional piece speaking to everyone’s inner soul through Vee’s personal experience. Delving into personal growth, resilience and overcoming struggles, the Tampa-based creative seeks to inspire listeners to be true to themselves, not be afraid of admitting mistakes and working on self-love. This is a delicate yet incredibly needed message, especially at a time when society is hyper-divided and angry.

Class Vee’s luscious, anthemic vocals are the perfect match for such a meaningful effort. Reiterating the inspiration behind the song, she explains: “It reflects a journey through past struggles, it ultimately centres on the power of realizing wrongs and forgiving oneself. This inspiring song reminds us of the importance of self-love and the strength it brings.”
