Continuing his unstoppable journey into artsy, metaphorical and sultry territories, Spanish songwriter and visionary Carlos Ucedda has recently unveiled his latest effort, ‘Inflatable e-doll (Part One)’, an uplifting and imaginative pop gem with a precise focus on the concept of paraphilia – consisting in feeling sexual desire for a statue, doll, mannequin or other figurative object.
While the record’s subject is obviously niche and obscure, it’s all treated into relatable and digestible pop prowess by Ucedda. Introduced by haunting samples and a retro-flavoured stream of arpeggiated synthetisers, ‘Inflatable e-doll (Part One)’, delves fully into new wave and 80s references, carving out lots of space for Carlos’ ethereal, dreamy vocals, floating over the instrumental with blissful charm.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the song. Ucedda explains: “Basically, the meaning of the fact and the words Dilogy and Biology has always caught my attention. On this occasion the
Agalmatophilia is a topic that seems very striking to me, from the point of view of some factors, due to the development of people and emotional ties.” The single is also part of a bigger project, with more records to come.
