emme oneill Explores Toxic Relationships in ‘Drinking Problems’

Whenever we get a stunning pop banger from Nashville, we are not surprised. The city has been a vital part of the industry for years, continuing to grow talent and popular music innovation as it goes along. One of the names you should know about these days, it’s emme oneill. The young talent officially debuted only last year, but managed to already become one of the city’s most prominent newcomers. She did so by writing soulful and relatable gems, often balanced between RnB’s melodies and charming pop attitude, instantly connecting with the listeners.

‘Drinking Problems’ is oneill’s latest release, her second to date, in fact. Following up from the acoustic vibes of ‘Better’,  the new record expands the discourse into full production territories, channelling a contemporary RnB arrangement with short bursts of electronica. Crowning it all, we find emme’s incredible vocals, always so precise and dynamic. Notably, rapper Big Trip also features a final verse.

Lyrically, the song focuses on the complexities of modern-day love, specifically focusing on the hardships of toxic and abusive relationships. It’s an introspective journey through human nature, exploring all the possible consequences and seeking to find a glimmer of hope amidst all the betrayal and angst – as we all know, the results are often more negative than positive.
