Not long ago, we featured her previous single ‘Without Your Love’, proudly declaring: “it’s a euphoric, delicate, and deeply personal track from a seriously skilful artist”. Now, Sage Phoenix is ready for a bigger release, unveiling a deeper and more personal side to her artistry.
‘Forever’ is the project’s latest EP, a collection of 4 tracks encompassing themes of love, resilience and growth. Championing a modern sonic outlook based on commercial electronica and R&B tinges, Phoenix showcases her songwriting prowess, able to craft songs that feel relatable and intimate, while keeping the music side interesting and exciting.
Introduced by title-track ‘Forever’, the record jumps into upbeat and bubbly territories, echoing synth-pop influences in the process. ‘Angel’ sees Sage Phoenix teaming up with Syauqi Destanika for a heart-wrenching, lovable ballad. ‘Make You Mine’ exudes empowering energy, while ‘’Without Your Love’ brings the record to a close in poignant fashion.
