Released just a few hours ago, ‘Girl I Know’ is the kaleidoscopic and trance-inducing debut single from French London-based four-piece Huarinami. Clocking in at just over two and a half minutes, the dreamy and immersive piece of music feels like the perfect way for the outfit to make their grand entrance onto the scene.
Infused with tangerine-hued guitars, courtesy of Kevin Siou, and the honeyed vocals of Pauline Janier, ‘Girl I Know’ is an intoxicating daydream of colour and sound you never want to leave. It even gets pretty psychedelic at the halfway mark, sucking you in further, before an earthy and organic flute decides to play us out.
“‘Girl I Know’ is a soft song that still has a large range of dynamics and doesn’t feel ‘pliable’ but rather mesmerizing,” says the band. “It’s about love, flirts, and charming dynamics between two people…and we’re so thrilled it’s how we’re introducing ourselves to the world”.
Lifted from Huarinami’s forthcoming EP ‘super soft’, set for release later this year, ‘Girl I Know’ signals the arrival of an act with a distinct and highly exciting sonic palette. And yes…you know it…we can’t wait to hear more!
