‘High Speed’ is easily one of my favourite new tunes of 2025, and there’s been some stiff competition so far. Courtesy of New York-based South Korean artist just Min, the dreamy alternative-pop offering is wonderfully textured and pieced together. And, despite its brevity, just Min manages to concoct a highly intense and moving piece of music that hits you instantly – the sign of a truly gifted artist in my humble opinion.
A bold and immersive bass guitar begins the proceedings, accompanied by a floaty guitar riff that adds an airy and hypnotic quality. It’s not long before just Min makes his vocal introduction with a raw and commanding presence, slowly taking our hand and leading us towards the chorus. Addictive and anthemic, I cannot do justice to the track’s chorus with mere words. Needless to say, I can already see it being belted out to an adoring festival crowd.
“‘High Speed’ reminds me why I make music,” says the musician. “Not for numbers or statistics, but to express myself through the medium I know best. Ironically, the name reminds me to live in the moment and prioritise myself”.
Serving as the third single from just Min’s upcoming debut EP, ‘High Speed’ teases a record that could very well position him as one of alternative pop’s most exciting new voices.
