Let’s just say that Christopher Ciucanu’s newest release is NASTY (and I mean that in the best way possible!). Filling your ears with heavy electronic sounds and a grumbling 808, ‘Out Loud’ delivers a loudness that isn’t related to volume, but to thickness of sound, as the main riff echoes in your head.
Based in Michigan, Ciucanu (professionally known as AroMani), started producing as a hobby more than a decade ago. While experimenting with electronic music, the artist and DJ found inspiration from his Romanian background filled with orchestral and cultural instrumentation, as well as world music, and gradually found his niche in the trap and bass world.
In his latest single ‘Out Loud’, I could definitely identify AroMani’s European roots, as the track carries a Euro-electronic ambience. With unapologetic sonic choices, the track is in-your-face kind of music, while also giving an effortless, nonchalant impression, as if AroMani isn’t even trying that hard. Reintroducing rhythmic and melodic patterns throughout the track, AroMani’s release engages with the listener for the full two and a half minutes, showcasing knowledge and professionalism in his field.
Whether you’re a fan of trap music or not, you’ll find yourself humming the main theme of the track for days to come.
