Certainly one of the most original and creative records we have come across in a long time. Let’s break it down, lots to be discovered. For a start, ‘More_____’ could be categorized as a modern art piece, having been composed entirely in an iPhone with found sounds and ingenious sound designs. Nonetheless, the track breaks free of its technical limitations, managing to end up as a nuanced, complex folktronica jewel. Featuring noisy percussions, dark drones and celebrative vocals, ‘More_____’ will likely put the listener to the test, offering a sonic experience that’s cathartic and positively eclectic.
The project stems from a 1,400-mile hike across the Pacific Crest Trail, where Californian wizard James Bishop set out the quirky goal of completing a whole album exclusively on his iPhone. The result is pretty stunning, as far as we can grasp. The rest of the record – ‘BODYBOUND’ – is due to be unveiled on February 9th. We can’t wait.
