‘Meyouyoumemeyou’ is exactly the kind of record we are most comfortable with. Drenched in shoegaze and emo references, the track feels anthemic and vibrant, wrapping the listener in cathartic and poignant energy. There’s a strong duality in it – verses are spacious, fragile and melancholic, while choruses reveal a beefier wall of sound and a majestic melodic contour. Catchy and relatable, ‘Meyouyoumemeyou’ is bound to connect with a wide plethora of listeners out there – it certainly did with us.
Published under the moniker The Family Bible, the single finds its origin in the project’s head honcho Gustaf Wistrand, talented Swedish creative with a knack for ’90s and early ‘2000 rock stylings. Born as a solitary endeavour, the band is now a fully-fledged musical outfit, choosing ‘Meyouyoumemeyou’ as their impressive debut.
Wistrand’s vocals feel evocative and charming, the perfect match for such a rich and nuanced instrumental background. A wonderful record, ‘Meyouyoumemeyou’ is the first step for a group that we’ll be hearing a lot next year… look out for an upcoming release in spring.
