Another act that we’ve been a little obsessed with over the last year or so has been 7000apart, a husband and wife indie-pop duo featuring Amelie Eiding and Jon Kresin. From the short gem that is ‘Whole Lot Left to Lose’ to the melodic masterpiece ‘Stand Together‘, we’ve been proud to share their artistry with you. The pair have now returned with yet another infectious new tune called ‘Lights Go Down’ and, at this point, we’re beginning to run out of superlatives to describe their music.
Finding influence in both their beloved bands of the 2000s as well as today’s pop scene, ‘Lights Go Down’ skillfully merges Ed Sheeran-esque rap verses with a ridiculously catchy post-chorus hook. It’s captivating straight from the off, and there’s just something really unique and special about the duo’s sound. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but there’s an undefinable allure that always keeps me coming back for more.
Working once again with Grammy-winning producer and songwriter FEMKE, 7000apart is busy putting the final touches to their sophomore album. Described as a “dynamic journey of the highs and lows” that the couple has faced so far, with a reminder of the importance of self-care, ‘Feel Your Feelings’ is a record that I cannot wait to hear in full!
