Initially inspired by ‘The Fault in Our Stars’, ‘Faltering / Neverland’ is the brand new release from London-based acoustic singer/songwriter Jidé Kuti. Described by the artist as, “the summation of six years of musical trial and error,” the love song is a delicate, magical, and seriously infectious journey. The combination of Kuti’s acoustic guitar and moving, stirring string arrangements is an absolute masterstroke and, with crisp and clean production, takes the tune to the next level!
When speaking of what he hopes to achieve with his music, Jidé says that “every song is designed to be meaningful but also addictive”. I suppose that’s the classic combo that all musicians are after really. Personally, I think Kuti is there, and his latest track serves as a prime example.
With references to Taylor Swift, Barbie Mariposa, and Peter Pan, this ingenious and imaginative little tune has completely won me over! Jidé’s smooth and distinctive vocals separate him from the pack, and I get the feeling that this is just the beginning of a long and successful musical career! Remember the name Jidé Kuti!
