One of the things I love about what I do, perhaps more than anything, is coming across an artist who I’ve wondered about after featuring them before. It was a year ago that I first discovered the music of London-based singer/songwriter Frankie Bird, with her bright and summery little number ‘Campfire’. Today, I am proud to present to you Frankie’s debut EP ‘Grassroots, released on the 25th of last month. Featuring four original and introspective tunes, it showcases the growth and maturity of an unbelievably gifted musician. As she deals with themes of growing up, social anxiety, and social belief, Bird displays thoughtfulness and wiseness well beyond her young age!
‘Background’ gets ‘Grassroots’ up and running, and it’s a catchy and poppy number that instantly immerses the listener in Frankie’s more upbeat and vibrant sound. For her second trick, the artist introduces ‘Think Twice’, a tender and emotional ballad that highlights her incredible versatility.
‘Hidden Away’ and ‘Give Me Faith’ complete ‘Grassroots’, and I’m going to leave you to discover them at your own pace. What I will say is this…’Grassroots’ is not just an EP, it’s evidence of Frankie’s talent, with the promise of a brilliant musical future!
